Why the name Gemstone Studios? The name “Gemstone” has both personal and symbolic origins. It comes from the neighborhood where the founder lived when his passion for content creation began—the streets are named after various gemstones. The name is also inspired by Exodus chapter 39, which describes the craftsmanship of the ephod worn by the high priest. Its breastpiece was adorned with four rows of gemstones, reflecting God’s desire for excellence and high-quality materials. In the same way, Gemstone Studios strives to bring that level of care and craftsmanship to video and audio editing—transforming raw footage into polished, high-quality content that leaves a lasting impact on every client.
Meet the Founder
This is Joey—the founder of Gemstone Studios—where he transforms raw video and audio into polished, high-quality content that tells meaningful stories. Originally from Los Angeles and now living in Kansas City, his creative journey began in 2022 with podcast recording and editing, and has since expanded into video filming and editing. With experience ranging from filming weddings to capturing travel experiences and producing podcasts, Joey is driven by a passion for preserving moments that truly matter. He believes the most compelling stories are created when creativity, purpose, and joy intersect.
When he is not editing, Joey is deeply invested in people and community. In his downtime, he enjoys exploring coffee shops, hiking, playing board games, and discovering ethnic cuisines from around the world.
